1991. Twelve weeks. One oil company. DRILL! is a browser-based management simulation played through a retro corporate desktop. Read mail and market reports, adjust oil production and safety budgets, manage inventory, and decide when to sell. Players must balance cash flow, debt, operational risk, environmental responsibility and public trust. Oil in storage has value, but it cannot pay operating costs until it is sold. The game can support classroom discussions about business decisions under uncertainty. English and Korean are available, with an interactive tutorial. Desktop and mouse controls are recommended; mobile browsers are also supported. DRILL! is in public beta. Its prices, events and asset valuations are simplified fictional systems, rather than a model of real oil markets or accounting standards. Educational effectiveness has not yet been formally evaluated. The linked video is a promotional teaser; the gallery images show actual gameplay. AI tools assisted parts of development, including coding, text, translation and promotional artwork. Our team directed and refined the concept, game design, balance and presentation. This version supports guest play. Google sign-in, cross-device achievement and ending collection sync, and integration with edu.games learning analytics are not currently available. Players can export and import save files manually to keep their progress.
Through gameplay and guided discussion, learners can practise: • Distinguishing available cash from inventory value and net assets. • Planning sales and expenditure to meet recurring operating costs. • Comparing conflicting information and making decisions under uncertainty. • Explaining trade-offs between production, safety spending and operational risk. • Discussing the environmental and ethical consequences of business decisions. • Reflecting on how their decisions contributed to the final financial and operational results. For classroom assessment, use decision explanations and financial records rather than the ending title, as multiple qualifying endings may be selected randomly.
Teachers can test (free play), assign and purchase games for their classes after signing in.
